The driving vision behind USA Laser Biotech is to build lasers that address specific challenges in fields of dentistry and physical medicine. We strive to build into each one of our products as much versatility, ease of use and value as physically possible. We see treatment challenges as opportunities to develop solutions that push the boundaries of biology, physics and technology. Our multidisciplinary approach to laser design allows us to develop innovative multipurpose products that can often achieve dramatic results in real world applications.

Consider the fact that different people respond differently to dental treatments. Dentists experience this first hand. While many people experience a normal response after treatment, others can respond badly. Patient response is based on a number of factors most of which are out of the control of the dentist. Diet, dental hygiene and immune response are patient dependent. But who is the patient going to blame if they have a bad reaction to a dental treatment? The dental practitioner of course!

As a dentist, have you ever had a patient respond badly to a simple SRP procedure because of inflamed gums? What would you do to rectify the situation? Do you tell the patient to take an aspirin? Even then a patient will still blame you for their pain. Yet there is a solution... and it’s called biostimulation!

Biostimulation accelerates the body’s innate ability to heal itself through the mitochondrial production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). Depending on the performance of the laser, biostimulation can bring down pain and inflammation fast! Very fast! Our popular Lumix 2 model, for example, can greatly reduce pain and inflammation in the affected tissue in as little as 12 minutes. Dentists marvel at the laser’s ability to heal inflamed tissue right before their eyes. And best of all, any member of the dental staff can administer the treatment with minimal training. Here is what the Lumix 2 did for Paul Grussenmeyer, DDS:

“... I saw a patient who had been to a PA oral surgeon for a lower right premolar extraction and implant. He placed the longest implant that I ever saw ----- into the mental nerve area. The patient had pain & swelling, plus paraesthesia of the left lip and chin area for 2 months (yes, you read that correctly) post implant insertion.

I used the Lumix 2 laser on this one, as the Oral Surgeon was going to remove the implant & I told the patient it was worth a try & a no risk procedure. I treated the implant area on the lingual & buccal, plus the mental foramen area for a total of 20 minutes. Results: Pain & swelling gone within 24 hrs. Neuropathy symptoms resolved in about 1 week with no other symptoms & no drugs. This was a couple of months ago. She had no recurrence of symptoms, and the implant has been restored with an abuttment and crown.”

Paul Grussenmeyer, DDS

As dramatic as that case may sound, it is a sampling of what can happen with the proper use of our innovative biostimulation lasers. Here is a sampling of additional dental conditions that will benefit from biostimulation:

  • TMD and soft tissue pain
  • Tooth hypersensitivity
  • Gingival disease
  • Bone loss
  • Pulpitis
  • Trigeminal Neuralgia
  • Paresthesias
  • Tissue repair: bone, nerve muscle, ligament & tendon
  • Inflammation: acute & chronic

As you can see, biostimulation can be used in almost any application where there is a need to reduce pain, swelling and inflammation and foster tissue healing.

THE WORLD’S ONLY LINE OF LASERS THAT WAS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO PERFORM BOTH SURGICAL AND ACTIVE HEALING FUNCTIONS!

Now we have taken laser biostimulation and added it to a new generation of multipurpose lasers designed for dental surgery. The ability to perform both ablation and biostimulation bolsters the performance level of this new class of lasers to achieve unprecedented patient outcomes. Our dual function Nexus 30W Pro and Nexus 7W and 10W  lasers have versatility and performance that is unmatched at their price points. Here is a sampling of dental procedures that can be performed by these three laser wonders:

Dental Procedures

  • A. Dental soft tissue indications for incision, excision, vaporization, ablation and coagulation of oral soft tissues including marginal and inter-dental gingival and epithelial lining of free gingiva and the following specific indications:
    1. Excisional and incisional biopsies
    2. Exposure of unerupted teeth
    3. Fibroma removal
    4. Frenectomy
    5. Frenotomy
    6. Gingival troughing for crown impressions
    7. Gingivectomy
    8. Gingivoplasty
    9. Gingival incision and excision
    10. Hemostasis and coagulation
    11. Implant recovery
    12. Incision and drainage of abscess
    13. Leukoplakia
    14. Operculectomy
    15. Oral papillectomies
    16. Pulpotomy
    17. Pulpotomy as an adjunct to root canal therapy
    18. Reduction of gingival hypertrophy
    19. Soft tissue crown lengthening
    20. Treatment of canker sores, herpetic and aphthous ulcers of the oral mucosa
    21. Vestibuloplasty

  • B. Laser periodontal procedures including:
    1. Laser soft tissue curettage
    2. Laser removal of diseased, infected, inflamed and necrosed soft tissue within the periodontal pocket
    3. Sulcular debridement - removal of diseased, infected, inflamed and necrosed soft tissue in the periodontal pocket to improve clinical indices including gingival index, gingival bleeding index, probe depth, attachment loss and tooth mobility.

  • C. Advanced procedures.
The main advanced procedure performed is the LAPP procedure (Laser-Assisted Periodontal Procedure). This is a gingival reattachment procedure in a deep pocket that a standard soft tissue diode laser cannot perform. The Nexus 30W Pro is fully capable of doing an enhanced version of this procedure with distinct advantages: better bleeding control and a non-surgical tissue healing mode.

  • D. Soft and hard tissue biostimulation.
The Nexus 30W Pro and the Nexus 7W and 10W lasers can vary their pulse widths so that they deliver high intensity beams that do not ablate tissue. This non-surgical mode is used to stimulate and heal soft and hard tissues. This advanced feature can be used at the time of, and for follow up to, procedures as well as a primary treatment for pain and inflammation of the entire craniofacial area.
